This is not an endorsement or defense of neoliberalism, which is a bankrupt ideology that's in large part responsible for getting us to this point in the first place.

I'm not even critiquing the analysis of neoliberalism as the central factor in the political crisis of the 21st century -- I think it is!

I *am*, however, questioning the political wisdom of downplaying the danger from the right, because at a certain point it's like insisting the sky isn't actually blue.
