TW: Gamification of enslaved peoples. I know, its fashionable and digital humanities projects might get extra funding, but **not everything needs to be gamified**

What is most disturbing about the Hajj game is that you can choose to play as a 'household slave', whose bio describes as being "taken as a child" and later "converting to Islam" whilst still enslaved. You are allocated the name Safiye, but can change this (agency?).
Safiye is allocated 'traveling companions' - by definition a 'household slave' (enslaved person) would clearly be traveling with their 'owner' not a companion. You apparently have your own money (?) and are given the lowest level of piety (tied with a Janissary) of 5 characters.
Safiye has to choose a 'secondary challenge' (the first 'challenge' being the pilgrimage itself). Completion of the most difficult of these challenges 'Road to manumission' (highest reward points) will result in your freedom being granted (manumission papers) and a yearly stipend
The Hajj is not some ancient tradition lost to time, a relic of the past (or past peoples). If you're going to make a game out of it, perhaps consider consulting members of the community on whether competing for points and piety is respectful.
