As the province rolls out its three-phased vaccine distribution implementation plan, we will share information—as we have it—about where and when residents of Waterloo Region can receive the vaccine. 1/7
The Region of Waterloo COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution Task Force was formed to ensure an efficient, equitable plan for the delivery of the immunization program in Waterloo Region. http://regionofwaterloo.ca/VaccineTaskForce 2/7
Phase 1 of the Province's plan is underway in Waterloo Region. Clinics continue to be held on a daily basis and as of today 9,159 doses have been given. Mobile clinics in Waterloo Region are focusing on vaccinating residents of long-term care homes. 3/7
Phase 2 of the plan is expected to begin as early as March in Ontario. This phase adds priority for other congregate care settings and older adults, starting with those 80 years of age and older and decreasing in five-year increments. 4/7
Phase 3 of the plan could begin as early as August 2021, pending availability of the vaccines. http://Ontario.ca/covidvaccine  We will communicate broadly with residents of Waterloo Region about when and where you can get your vaccination. 5/7
We know many are eager to get vaccinated, and to protect themselves from this virus in the best way possible. The goal is for everyone in Waterloo Region to be able to get a vaccination if they want one, as soon as enough doses are available. 6/7
The vaccines will be an important tool to help stop the spread of the virus - and until extensive immunization is achieved, public health measures will continue to be essential to minimize the spread and save lives. http://regionofwaterloo.ca/COVID19vaccine  7/7
