We’re going to do something different today

I’m going to teach you about the greatest music genre known to man Retro 80’s Synthwave

Up first Pursuit by Garth Knight has been described as “droning on with merciless repetition for six full minutes” 👍🏼
Isidor - Touch The Sky

Described as “nothing short of sublime”
Meine by Daso has been described as an “expert move” by Daso Franke, who sadly passed away in 2018.
Nightcall by Kavinsky was featured in the movie Drive. Described as “replicating the soundtracks to 1980s driving video games with eerie accuracy”
Gunship - Dark All Day

Described “I wasn't even born until the 90s, but Dark All Day makes me long for a time before I was born. It is honestly the first time I have ever felt anemoia. It is a real treat to experience.”
While I like the 2017 version more, Sung’s Thunder Love has been described as “visceral”
Kick Punchers outing with Fight or Flight has been described as “new retro”

Temperance by Occams Laser is another hard driving example of the greatest genre in music
Trevor Something’s Forever is at the opposite end of this spectrum from the previous entries.
Another Gunship outing with Fly For Your Life. This is one of the best videos on this list.
Gunship’s When You Grow Up is the best video on this list. Pure, unadulterated, 80’s nostalgia. Enjoy.
Rounding out Gunship’s presence on this list is their seminal hit Drone Racing League. The pulsing drive throughout contrasts expertly with the lyrical tone.

Survive. Overdrive.
Gunship wouldn’t be what they are without the influence of Carpenter Brut.

The first entry Leather Teeth takes the 80’s retro sensibilities and makes them harder.
Monday Hunt from Carpenter Brut has been described as “offensive” 😂
The last entry from Carpenter Brut on this list is Inferno Galore. More poppy than his other outings, Inferno better shows where his influence plays on Gunship.
Absolute Valentines “In The 42nd Street” takes us back to the heart of this genre with its drop at 1:03
Pretend from Fukkk Off is upbeat and everything that’s fun loving about this genre. Enjoy.

Ace Marino’s “Communication” harkens back to a simpler time. A time of big hair and even bigger shoulder pads.
Mire’s “Bury” is an instrumental that would be at home in the soundtrack to an 80’s car movie
Sonic Mayhem’s “Futureland” is from so far in the future, it’s retro.
Cyber Realm from Tonebox is straight out of an 80’s cyberpunk soundtrack.
“Odd Look” from Kavinsky, the second title from him on this list, is perhaps his most powerful outing.

There is absolutely nothing I don’t love about this song, and the effects producing the lyrical treatment are simply divine.
Citymulation by Tommy ‘86
Niky Nine’s “Exhausted Divinity” is perfectly at home in 2049 or 1984
Patriot by Judge Bitch is a return to 80’s driving movie soundtracks. This would be at home on the twisty roads of Tucson Arizona in 1986’s The Wraith

Streets of Passion by d.notive is the definitive soundtrack for driving a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS through a downtown megapolis at night.
Zombie Hyperdrive’s “Monolith”
Cluster Buster’s “Regiment of the Undead” is a nice song to invade a neighbor to.

We will end this list on a high note with Nightcrawler’s “Dystopia”
