there is a class action lawsuit out against Tresemmé (owned by Unilever) cuz they put fucking formaldehyde in their shampoo - a formaldehyde releasing preservative "DMDM Hydantoin" to be exact. it turns to formaldehyde when it touches water.

CA just passed a law that will go into effect in 2025 banning MERCURY, FORMALDEHYDE, and 22 other poisons from product ingredient lists. but the FDA doesn't regulate beauty products at all, so whats on the label doesn't have to match what is inside... cool, right? LOL

and another thing, PERFUME causes cancer. where a gif of that kid screaming "that's racist!!" ?!? cuz guess what, these deadly scents and poisonous additives are waaay more prevalent in products "made for" and advertised to black consumers. in straighteners, stylers, washes alike. IT. IS. FUCKED.
did the USA make laws saying black people can't wear their natural hair, and then put poison in the products used to alter it? yes they did.
SO WHAT DO YOU DO? google the brand, find out who owns it, don't buy anything from the companies in the graph above. google the ingredients (bad boys are listed in those articles), and seek the knowledge of professionals - not bloggers!
if that seems daunting or expensive, imagine cancer treatments, fertility treatments, fucked up menstrual cycles, hair loss, burns, poisoning the ocean.... cleaning up your beauty habits is doable! poisoning your body and children is not.
