Strong start to the year for #OpenSource licenses. I can understand the motivation for the #elastic shift from Apache to SSPL - AWS' approach has been pretty awful - but calling the article 'Doubling Down on Open' stretches credibility.

Be honest, treat us like adults and cut all the 'we're doing this to be even more open'. You are a public company who wants to increase the cost of development for your competitors so you can increase market share. Fair enough.
TerminusDB recently went through a license shift - GPLv3 to Apache 2.0 - and we tried to be really clear about our motivations in the announcement. https://terminusdb.com/blog/2020/12/08/we-love-gplv3-but-are-switching-license-to-apache-2-0-terminusdb/
And getting in this in advance 'Let me be clear to any naysayers. We believe deeply in the principles of free and open products, and of transparency with the community' exercise in not mentioning #OpenSource!
