Had a fair few messages to this and the other account about people feeling a bit down at the moment.

Here's a mini thread about something PTSD therapist told me to try and do...
When you feel down about something you can go into a negative spiral of thoughts, beating yourself up, thinking nothing but negative thoughts and being really hard on ourselves about everything.
She told me to imagine i was a "fly" on the wall watching myself, and that this magic fly could also hear my thoughts. The magic fly can also talk and she asked me what I thought the magic fly would say to me as it watched and listened to me.
Cos we are all mostly good people we would be compassionate, we'd ask the person what we could do to help, if they needed to talk, if they wanted a cup of tea, ask if they were alright. We wouldn't criticise them and put them down, we'd be nice to them
Whereas in our heads when we go on a downward spiral of negative thoughts we are often the least compassionate person imaginable

So if we wouldn't say those things to a stranger why do we say them to ourselves?
