The court covers itself in a false cloak of fairness. "Good people on both sides." The children see through that shit. They know who loves them, and who abuses them.
But as their mother, imagine the hell - how do you bear to HAVE to ALLOW him to take them? There's the wolf. Clear and present danger. Your righteous urge to snatch them from the wolf's jaws lacerates you.
How can you explain, looking at their terrified faces, that you can only protect them by letting the wolf take them? Bite them, tear at them, their innocent, perfect, beautiful, black, holy selves.
No wonder they can't understand, it makes no sense to you either. But you struggle on, with the beacon of their ultimate survival and the hope of a joyful and PERMANENTLY safe life for the three of you.
The children's agonized eyes beg you. Your heart knows the damage those jaws will do, are already doing.
This system, this court, this judge, this GAL, this abuser with a wealthy sponsor. They are the wolf, barely even bothering with the sheep's clothing of justice and protection.
This mother's love is righteous. This lawyer will help her throw off the sheep's clothing and reveal the wolf. For now, this is the wolf, this broken "justice" system.
Let's not let them face the wolf alone. If we stand with them, share their story, give money to support the lawyer's fees, we can make this dangerous time as short as possible. They are precious, and irreplaceable. As are we all.
