I spend a lot of time thinking about how Trump will look in 100 years, 500 years, 1000 years. Because I’m a medievalist, so that’s my habitual timeframe.

basically: actually holding trump and trumpism accountable for its crimes would be historic. Otherwise it's just been an intensification of existing trends (seen from the perspective of, say, the 26th century).
