I was going to pitch a story to my editor this morning about the goofy “But Stacey Abrams!” arguments on the right... then I remembered that I’ve already written that piece: https://www.mediamatters.org/erick-erickson/conservative-media-keep-comparing-donald-trump-stacey-abrams-theyve-got-it-all-wrong https://twitter.com/mattnegrin/status/1349718942579830786
Ten days after the 2018 election, Stacey Abrams said this.

She had a legitimate gripe. Kemp was using his power as SOS to aggressively purge voters from the rolls, which while probably legal, wasn't necessarily right to do. So she felt it was unfair.

But read the highlight:
As there's this narrative on the right that Abrams thinks she's actually governor, trying to frame her as delusional. But when she says that she feels like she "won" in 2018, she's been very clear about what she meant: https://www.mediamatters.org/erick-erickson/conservative-media-keep-comparing-donald-trump-stacey-abrams-theyve-got-it-all-wrong
If Trump or his enablers want to say something similar, I think we would all go, "Great, thank you. That's good enough. You can feel like the election wasn't fair for one reason or another, but just baseless conspiracy theories about 'fraud' don't cut it."
Anyway, it's a shame that Politico let Shapiro lie for the sake of b O t H S i D e S nonsense.
