A thread on why Virat Kohli is actually our best batsman in knockout games. People call him a choker and make it look like he has never performed but he has actually played many good innings. His performances are better than all the other batsman in the team right now.
2011 World Cup Final

A young boy from Delhi walks out to bat for the first time in a WC final after Sachin and Sehwag were dismissed early. He made a good partnership with Gambhir and got India into a good position. The pressure in this game must've been huge but he played good.
2013 CT SF

Another ODI Knockout game. Kohli scored 58 of 64 balls and remained not out and ensured India didn't face any difficulties.
2013 CT Final

Literally everyone else failed in this rain affected final but Virat scored 43. This was the highest score of the innings and he gave India a fighting score.
2014 T20 WC SF

He was once again the top scorer. India were chasing a big score and Kohli lead from the front with a brilliant 72 at a SR of 163. He won us this game.
2014 T20 WC Final

India were batting first. Nobody was able to score good runs. Only Virat got big runs in this final and gave India some hope. But in the end the team let him down.
2016 T20 WC Ind vs Aus (Virtual QF)

Virat Kohli played the best T20 innings of all time and saved India from getting Knocked out at home. He single handedly destroyed Australia. The way he managed the RRR was brilliant.
2016 T20 WC SF

Kohli scored 89 runs at a SR of 189 in this final.

He carried India in this tournament but once again the team let him down. His brilliant efforts were wasted.
2017 CT SF

He made 96 at a SR of 123 and made sure India eased to victory. A captains knock.
Some other good innings under pressure and in must win games.

2012 Asia Cup vs Pakistan - 183
2012 CB series vs Sri Lanka - 133
2016 Asia Cup Final - 41
The ICC KO games in which Virat failed also involved the other batsman failing but only he is blamed for some reason. Overall Virat has done really good.
