The world is volatile & unpredictable.

Take COVID. None of you were predicting this would happen.

Yet, some THRIVED during pandemic and some did not.

When did they learn how to survive a pandemic? How can you arm yourselves with anti-fragility? What is anti-fragility?
There are 2 ways to handle an unpredictable world: try to predict, try to prepare.

Prediction is tempting but never accurate enough to save you from the happenings of the world.

It's more efficient to prepare.
What are some ways we can prepare so we can benefit from volatility of the world?

1. Seek out situations that we expect have good odds of offering us opportunities.

Take the example of attending a cocktail party where a lot of people you might like to know are in attendance.
While nothing is guaranteed to happen, you might still meet someone because of serendipity & randomness. The worst thing that could happen is...nothing.

One thing you know for sure is that you'll never meet them sitting at home. You improve odds by attending the party.
2. Learn how to fail properly.

First, never take a risk that will take you out of the game completely.

Second, develop the personal resilience to learn from your failures & start again.

With these 2 rules, you can only fail temporarily.
Those who are not afraid to fail have a huge advantage over others. What they learn makes them less vulnerable to the volatility of the world.

Thats why,you notice that few were crushed during pandemic & few thrived despite it.

They benefit from it, in true antifragile fashion.
"Whenever possible, try to create scenarios where randomness and uncertainty are your friends, not your enemies."
