Our major signalling locations like the East Kent Signalling Centre at #Gillingham have uninterruptable power supplies, usually powered by generators, and they kicked in as expected this time. This workstation controls the Medway Towns and has been operating correctly. /2
However, while the signalling continued to operate properly, and trains could run, we lost - and are still without - proper telecoms. That means we are having to slow trains down over all user-worked and automatic level crossings that rely on normal telephones for comms. /3
So while the power is back and the lights on, we still can't run trains at full speed along the line. Our techs are working on trying to get the system back online ASAP so we can get things moving again and we're working with the domestic power supplier to understand... /4
... what happened. We're so sorry for the disruption this morning and we're working with @Se_Railway on a plan to recover the service as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience. Ends.
