A lot more people are struggling with their #mentalhealth this lockdown -

So it feels as good a time to say as any that the last couple months I've been in therapy with @DPT_TALKWORKS

[Mini-thread]....
Day to day things have been somewhere between OK and pretty meh but the long term background pressure of everything 2020 was translating into anxiety peaks and #OCD episodes.
I procrastinated for about a month unsure if things were ‘bad enough,’ (they were) or if it would be a waste of time (it hasn’t been) but things weren’t getting any better on their own and I wanted to put some tools and systems in for stopping it get any worse.
(Side note: I had bad OCD as a teenager so knew the signs and had a rusty toolkit of how to handle it, which thankfully I’ve never needed to use up till now but it wasn’t enough).
Right now, things aren’t great but they’re a LOT better than they were. Someone to talk to. Some structured exercises to work on. Being held accountable.
The conversations around mental health should be just like saying I’ve got a broken leg, so I went to the doctor. If normalising it through tweets like this helps someone then so be it.
So, in short:

@dpt_talkworks is 100% free, 100% confidential and in my experience pretty damn helpful.
