Sexualizing LGBTQ+ ppl and our relationships is fucked up, it's very traumatic to be reduced to nothing but sex or sex appeal in someone's eyes, but I'm gonna need everyone to stop retweeting "dont sexualize wlw/mlm" takes from people that believe that shipping crimes are real.
Because when you start to actually pay attention to the people most often spouting these claims, you very quickly and easily find that they are usually saying "dont create or enjoy any NSFW material of wlw/mlm" and you quickly realize even further that it's not about protecting
real lgbtq+ peeps but rather about people who have created this alternate reality for themselves where they believe any and all nsfw lgbtq+ is fetishistic regardless of who created it.
And of course it's usually accompanied by intense and erratic ramblings of how somehow shipping fictional characters together manages to be on the same level as, say, societal bigotry and hundreds- no, THOUSANDS of years of prejudice against LGBTQ+ peeps that lead to the present.
"But people will get the wrong idea about wlw/mlm if you create NSFW-" bro, no, people already have the wrong idea because society as a whole is homophobic and an enormous chunk of those homophobes have never even encountered any of these fanfics that you believe caused bigotry.
