It was obvious to us. It was always going to happen. Every time he talked he invoked the language of Ralph Klein. And I realize for some reason most of Alberta has a very selective memory. The conservatives here only ever remember this photo, and literally nothing else.
There he was, clearly day drunk, holding that big black and white sign.
And that's what people remember.

And here's the thing; They started with Nurses, and I don't think that was on accident. They started by announcing they'd be cutting nurse position... And nobody said anything.
I mean sure, @RachelNotley and her political proponents did, but that was to be expected.

Many of us were shocked and awed they were fighting with Doctors DURING A PANDEMIC, but honestly? They already knew they could get away with it.
Because when they came for the Nurses? Those mostly women who are usually understaffed, certainly under paid, definitely over worked. Those women who work tirelessly all day long dealing with people in their darkest moments?
We did nothing.
