A thing I notice if you look at their Tiktok videos? A lot of the women have multiple videos about their shitty relationships. A lot of the men have a lot of misogynistic content. https://twitter.com/TheDweck/status/1349411896009445376

And I mean some very weepy "I do all the cooking and cleaning and he won't even look at me unless he wants sex" content vs "How dare women have fun in public? My wife would know that her place is in the home with our kids." And they don't even seem to see what's amiss there.

And that's before you get to the videos from their kids. I..well, if my kids ever hated me that much it would crush me. The kids record the fights. A lot of these conservative family values folks are drunk and mean at each other a lot. And the kids can't get away from it.

Plus an astonishing number of stories about stolen money, boundary crossing, and abuse between the faces you see & their siblings. And yes, a lot of racism, a lot of homophobia and transphobia and ableism and so on. They hate others and they hate themselves. It's wild to watch

And the other thing I've noticed? It's largely wealthy conservatives. Like these people are in big houses in Montana or Texas or wherever and they hate that too. It's somehow not big enough but also too much work? IDEK. And yeah some aren't well off, but they're not the majority

Also most of the ones who aren't well off? They aren't poor. At least not food stamps, subsidized housing poor. They're not even two jobs poor. They're "working overtime lets us afford to buy this land" or "I work so that she doesn't have to" poor.

And the women are..well...I don't know why this is the aspiration because they don't seem to like their lives. If they work? The gripes are about not having any help with the house. If they don't? They don't get any appreciation. And they get really mad at WOC who are happy.

There's an overinvestment in what Black and Brown creators are doing. I don't just mean direct racism, there's also a lot of Karen moments when creators who aren't white talk about things that they don't like. Or that they don't get to do. It's like they can't imagine change

But clearly they can see the options? I don't know exactly how to explain the way they construct false competitions with strangers. But when they lose that competition? They can't handle it. Because (I think) they have so much and it still isn't enough for them.
