AVOIDANCE OF SUN EXPOSURE IS A RISK FACTOR FOR ALL CAUSE MORTALITY

"We found that all‐cause mortality was inversely related to sun exposure habits. The mortality rate amongst avoiders of sun exposure was approximately TWOFOLD higher compared with the highest sun exposure group"
Exposure to sunlight remains the main source of vitamin D.

Sunlight UVB radiation with a wavelength between 290-315 nm penetrates the skin and converts 7‐dehydrocholesterol to 25‐hydroxycholecalciferol vitamin D3 via previtamin D.
Interestingly enough, Low vitamin D concentrations have also been linked to thicker, more aggressive melanomas with shorter survival times.

What this study is showing is something that we intuitively know.
It’s good to get outside, it’s good to get hours of sun on as much skin as possible.

Avoid the hottest and highest-uv parts of the day, but otherwise make sure to be outside as much as you can, shirt off. No sunscreen.
Reducing your intake of polyunsaturated vegetable oils and reducing your inflammation overall will also go a long way to preventing the oxidation that occurs within the skin which causes the skin burning.

If you only have quality animal fats, you will find you can go in the sun
your skin might get red, but overnight you will not burn and peel.

Other sun tips:
- coconut oil on the skin before during and after sun exposure
- Astaxanthin supplementation
- Hydrate always
