Deity work =/= deity worship.

The argument that deity work is something everyone should be able to do right off the bat because children WORSHIPPED Hellenic gods in Ancient Greece doesn’t make any sense.

Secondly, the narrative that deity work is inherently dangerous is not something that I promote. The narrative that going into any part of the Craft that is typically considered intense COULD not go well is something I will stand by.
2/
Saying that someone is elitist because they are asking you to properly research something that is considered relatively intermediate/advanced as a new Witch/Pagan doesn’t make sense. I will say the same thing for baneful magick, for domination workings, etc. 3/
The POSSIBLE danger of deity work is going in unprepared for a working relationship, things happening because your deities know it’s for the better, even if you don’t feel like that, and trickster spirits if you don’t research a deity and miss a sign. 3/
Yes, it is an amazing, wonderful working relationship. You will be pushed to your highest potential. I would rather tell beginner witches to focus on foundational concepts instead of deity work because a) they may not be pagan and b) no foundation means nowhere to build on.
This isn’t saying deity work is inherently bad or dangerous. It’s saying that any intermediate/advanced part of the Craft that you go into without the proper research can be bad or dangerous.
