The thing about remote quarantine is that it makes sense in inverse proportion to how much you're worried about covid. If you're basically doing quarantine for show, then sticking people in a cabin in the bush for a fortnight is fine - slightly nicer than a room at the Ibis.
But if you're worried that a bunch of people are going to get sick, require hospital treatment, possibly ICU and ventilation, then it's the dumbest thing you could possibly do given that rural healthcare capacity was rubbish even before covid.
