Arteta on Thomas Partey: “I think he’s got a different presence – he brings something different to the team. It’s not just about his talent or physicality, it’s who he is as a person. He makes players better around him and that’s a big, big quality. ( @guardian)
Arteta on Thomas Partey: “It’s incredible that we are in January, we signed him in October and we have only played him [a handful of times]. We haven’t really seen the impact he could have on the team. I think it’s going to be a big bonus if we can keep him fit.” ( @guardian)
Arteta on Thomas Partey: “Thomas was so willing for months to join Arsenal. He really wants to be a part of it and knows how much he can help. Then he had to deal with the injuries, with the lockdown and moving into a new place, and that’s been tough for him." ( @guardian)
Roy Hodgson on Arsenal: "They are still one of the top teams in the country. They’re doing everything well - defending well, not letting lots of goals in, but look at the quality of attacking players they have. You’re talking about people at the highest European level." ( @CPFC)
Rob Holding: “We signed two centre-halves over the summer and I was thinking, ‘am I even going to be involved in this?’. At 25, I have to focus on playing. I spoke to the manager and said there was a loan opportunity that had come up, that I needed football. I needed to play."
Holding: “It was all agreed, and the club thought it would be the best move for me, but in the week before the Community Shield against Liverpool, [head coach Mikel Arteta] pulled me aside and said he wanted to check that I was focused for the weekend because I was needed."
Rob Holding: "I told him [Arteta] that, wherever I am, I will always play my hardest and put 100 per cent in." ( @guardian)
Holding: “I played the game, we did well, we won, and then on the Monday, he called me into his office. He said it made no sense to let me go if my end goal was to play here. He was saying I was going to play, that it was my shirt to lose. That was the confidence he put in me."
Rob Holding: 'The amount of times me and Mustafi discuss the things that happen in the games while we're eating, how he saw it from the bench maybe or when he was playing and I was on the bench, and just sort of helping each other out that way.
Asked about his lack of goals, Aubameyang said: "From the beginning of this season I was struggling a lot but I think this is part of football. We gave a lot at the end of the season to win the FA Cup & to qualify for the Europa League. It was really important for the club."
