Dedefairy hcs are so fun because like. At first Dedede didn't even KNOW he liked her, and he was trying to convince himself that he wanted to hang out with her to stay her "kingdom ally" or whatever. But little did he know that he had a crush on the cute fairy queen.
She knew EXACTLY what she was feeling lol. She's no stranger to the fuzzy feeling you get when you like someone. So while Dedede was all confused and trying to figure out his feelings, Fairy KNEW she liked him back but didn't say so. She wanted to appear somewhat "professional."
In the end, they were both a bit flustered and stuff. Dedede, having never had a crush on anyone else, tried using really stupid pickup lines. Fairy appreciated his efforts, but at the same time liked being... almost unobtainable? It's all about the playful teasing. :)
They both did get more confident after a while... Now they're very comfy! But they're still a little bit shy at certain moments. They want to make sure that whatever they do with each other is ok with the other person.
Dedede especially can be timid at times... He doesn't wanna do anything that'll unintentionally push her away. He's very afraid of that. He doesn't like feeling as if he'll lose her someday, even though she thinks it's a stupid fear for him to have.
Sometimes he goes through moments of self-depreciation. If he messes up on anything he'll curse at himself and blame himself a lot, even if it's the tiniest mistake. Fairy Queen has to reassure him that making mistakes is okay.
Most of the time he doesn't SHOW the self-depreciation, though. A lot of it is in his head. He might appear all steadfast and confident, but the king does have moments of "am I good enough" that he goes through sometimes.
But! It usually turns out okay, because he has friends and a cute fairy wife that cheer him up and remind him that it's okay not to be perfect. :) They're his biggest supporters!!! He loves them all, even if he's a bit aloof about it.
