Another reason why rhetoric matters (mainly because I just read a good thread related to covid 19 in austin): while individual states and congress ultimately have the power to dictate how we handle the pandemic, the president has a significant amount of influence
His rhetoric in this video is vague and equivocates sides that are generally in “opposition”. Calling for unity is something that Tr*mp (and many political figures) often use in their rhetoric (pointing out others more to play up the problem/not to downplay Tr*mp’s words)
