2 quick points:

1) Yes, only 10 House Republicans voted for impeachment.
2) Yes, to convict, 17 Senate Republicans need to vote yea.

The fact that only 10 voted to impeach does not mean that 17 GOP Senators is not obtainable.

The two settings are very different.

1/n
Arguably, there was (much) less incentive for House Republicans (especially given rumours of threats to family) to vote for impeachment, since Dems were going to carry it anyway - but for the Senate R's, there is much more incentive to convict.

2/n
If Trump is convicted in the Senate, they can also then vote to bar him from standing again (in 2024 and beyond) which will (arguably) help to return the GOP to a vague 'normal'. This is partly McConnell's logic I think - 'vote to get his party back'.

3/n
So while, yes, 17 is more than 10, seventeen Republican Senators may well believe that, rather than voting to convict, they're actually voting to repair the GOP. And that might be enough to sell it to some of them.

4/ ends.
