@AHS_media has the ability and capacity to vaccinate all long term care & designated supportive living facilities by the end of the week, but we may not have enough doses in Alberta.

The federal government has not purchased enough vaccine supply for early delivery. 2/6
Due to a shortage of the Moderna vaccine this week, @AHS_media was unable to complete planned vaccinations of about 2,000 continuing care residents in South, Central and Edmonton Zones.

We need additional product in Alberta. 3/6
Central Zone completely ran out of vaccine over the weekend.

In the Calgary Zone, approximately 1,500 available appointments for health care workers had to be closed so vaccines would be available for vulnerable long term care & designated supportive living residents. 4/6
Numerous sites in the North Zone ran out of vaccines over the past few days, and the South zone had to reduce the number of available appointments.

We would like to vaccinate many, many more people daily but are limited by the federal government’s slow vaccine deliveries. 5/6
We know that life only starts returning to something resembling ‘normal’ when a significant proportion of the population has been vaccinated.

As Premier @jkenney has said, "we need more doses – bottom line." 6/6
