Take @Raytheon- a defense contractor that gets over 2/3s of their revenue from tax dollars- this is a breakdown of the $4.4million annual compensation package for one of their VPs.

Or take @generaldynamics, a defense contractor that gets over 85% of their revenue from tax dollars. Their lowest paid executive reportedly gets $4.1 million total annual compensation. In contrast an Army General w/ 20+ yrs experience makes ~ $250,000/yr w/ typical allowances.
In turn, Raytheon & General Dynamics spent combined $18 million+ on campaign donations/lobbying in the 2020 cycle alone & neither are even the top contract recipients or defense campaign contributors...spend the tax dollars they receive to keep the tax dollars flowing their way.
All of this while politicians from both sides screech about patriotism and parade around troops at photo ops who then go back to their families struggling to eat. In 2017 an estimated $67 million in food stamps were spent at military commissaries (on base grocery stores).
So let’s be clear- the people advocating endless military budget increases are the same people who funnel BILLIONS to their corporate donors while troops risk their lives in endless, unjust wars and barely survive.
They’re the same ones claiming vets like me saying #DefundDOD & war to invest in programs that bring REAL security are traitors who hate the troops tell sad stories about homeless vets but cut veteran healthcare and fight against housing, jobs & care as human rights.
Just like the response we saw vs. the violent white nationalist coup was not a shortage of military/police but lack of will due to collaborators amongst leadership, troops aren’t sleeping on the ground for lack of $$$ but bc incompetent/corrupt politicians see us as disposable.
And to be clear, when I say us, I mean troops, vets, the working class here and people in the countries they send us to kill and die for their own profit. All of us. #UniteThePoor
