My honest thoughts on every Man City player A thread:
Steffen: As a backup GK you can’t really expect a WC GK but when called upon so far Steffen has been great. He’s a little shaky sometimes so I do expect him to make mistakes but he shouldn’t be compared to Ederson cause that’s unfair on him
Kyle Walker: When he’s playing well he’s very good but he is absolutely brain dead sometimes and he can’t cross a road. Perfect backup option RB but his days as a regular starter should be over now that we have Cancelo playing so well week in week out
Joao Cancelo: I love him so much and he’s the best RB itw rn and he’s only going to get better and better he’s one of our best players
John Stones: His rise this season has been absolutely insane and nobody really expected it but it’s great to see. If he does make a mistake in the near future he doesn’t deserve any slander cause every player makes mistakes
Aymeric Laporte: We can’t forget everything he has done for us and he’s still a WC CB but it’s hard for him to become a regular at CB rn tbh. I think we should start him at LB cause he is way too good to be on the bench week in week out
Nathan Ake: We definitely overpaid and the injuries are worrying but apart from one average performance he’s been great and he’s a great backup option to have when he is actually fit
Zinchenko: He’s just not very good at LB tbh and he really shouldn’t be our regular LB but he’s the best of the bad lot. Hopefully he gets shipped in the summer but he tries hard at least and he isn’t a LB so he deserves some praises sometimes
Fernandinho: Still our best DM but can’t play every game sadly. A club legend and still at 35 years of age he plays like a warrior and puts in WC performances
Rodri: Do I think he is the Fernandinho replacement rn? No. Do I think he can actually succeed at the club? Yes. He has some qualities that show he’s a great player and hopefully overtime he gets better and better and has a rise like Stones has had
Gundogan: I was his biggest critic and wanted him sold but he has been one of our best players this season and deserves a lot of praise
Foden: He’s our best winger and he is retiring as a club legend. Only 20
Years of age and he is putting it in WC performances
Years of age and he is putting it in WC performances
Ferran Torres: One of our best signings in recent years has a lot to improve but he’s still so young and overtime he will get better and better. He isn’t a Sane replacement btw and shouldn’t be compared to Sane
Raheem Sterling: I’m tired of him missing chances I think his confidence is just gone completely. His movement is WC but having a winger that can’t finish just doesn’t make sense in my opinion especially when you’re trying to win The PL and UCL
Mahrez: Extremely inconsistent. His ability on the ball is superb and when he is on form he’s a joy to watch but he isn’t playing well and it’s extremely worrying. Still a WC winger but maybe City isn’t the club for him
Jesus: He isn’t the Aguero replacement and he never has been and never will be, He deserves an opportunity at LW though and he can become a crucial player but at ST he just won’t
Aguero: My favourite ever player and sadly his time looks like it’s coming to an end. If he performs in the next 5 months he’ll get a new contract but if he can’t stay fit I’ll understand the decision of letting him go even though I love him
