I just completed a 36 day writing streak on my blog. ⚡️

Here’s 10 reasons why you should write every day too.
1/ You get good at writing.

Writing daily builds the habit of writing, even when you don’t feel like it.

This matters a lot, because the only way to get good at writing ... is to write.

I only need to read a couple weeks back to see how far I’ve come.
2/ Writing is therapeutic.

It gives you the time and space to clear the cobwebs in your mind.

Whenever I get stuck on what to put down, I write what I’m scared about writing.

My anxiety hasn’t been this low in years.
3/ A daily deadline forces you to publish.

It’s hard to procrastinate, or get mired in detail when you’ve got to ship every day.

It also makes you more humble when you hit publish on something you’re not pleased with.

All that matters is that you did it.
4/ Your ability to connect the dots skyrockets.

Everything you hear, read or see spurs a thought, which combined with another, quickly turns into “I could write about that!”
5/ Sharing your thoughts and ideas creates connections with others.

I didn’t anticipate how many interesting people I’d meet, and exciting conversations I’d have - just from sharing what I was thinking about.
6/ It stops you worrying about being original.

I got hung up on the idea that I had to write something earth-shatteringly new for it to be interesting.

You don’t. You are rewarded for clarity in telling people what you learn, notice or think about.
7/ A public writing challenge helps you not worry about what others think

This is a big one. I, like many others I’m sure, can’t help but worry what other people think.

“Ooh fancies himself a writer does he?”

Disguising your desire to write as a challenge, makes those
...thoughts easy to shrug off.

Especially when you’re worried about being judged on the quality of your writing.

No one is going to think less of you for trying to get better at something.
8/ Daily writing makes life more fulfilling.

I feel like I’ve capped off a day when I cross an X.

Even if I’m having a bad day, the satisfaction of completing a small task, and keeping the chain going - is nothing short of magic.
9/ You slowly build a readership

I now have 21 people subscribed to my blog! I started with 3.

Whilst I try to make sure I’m writing for myself, it’s a nice feeling knowing others want to read my work.

Especially when I get an email from a reader saying they enjoyed it.
10/ It’s fun, and addictive.

Before, writing felt like a chore.

Now I love it - and I’m telling everyone who’ll listen. It’s best habit I’ve ever started.

You should start a daily blog too.
