i might write a post about inflammation and mars. because it's one of our go-to medical astrology things: mars = heat = inflammation. plus inflammation is the body battling what it sees as a threat. it's protective. however, when we focus on "there's inflammation" we miss a lot.
we have to ask why are we fighting, not just "stop the fighting." it's kind of mean to mars to be like, i will take your weapons away now — there, that's better, right?

no problem was solved but it might be less noisy. which is something but not everything.
is the body inflammed from too much heat and activity somewhere? is there an over-excitation, overstimulation? is it truly a "fire" thing? sometimes we're inflammed because of the opposite. it's too cold, stagnant, and dry. or too flooded, backed up, and boggy.
you can have "damp heat" in the body for example. so not just about "okay mars, pls calm down." we have to look at more in the chart, more in the body to get to the root. usually there's another energy in play that can tell us more, whether it excess or deficiency.
i honestly don't do much medical astrology. but i do love herbs and i love the planets, and i work with a western energetics model that speaks to both. there's an issue with "anti-inflammatory herbs" that's the same problem as "just tell mars to chill out."
you don't actually want to get rid of inflammation just like you don't want to get suppress your anger. it is a signal that change is required. i don't want to throw water on mars' fire, despite the fact i'm a day sect bb and it can be tough.
(remind me not to start a thread right before an appt, jesus. more later.)
that's why it's more helpful to think of herbs as modulating anger/ heat/ agitation aka mars shit, rather than suppressing. we want just enough battle. just enough fever. just enough blood to the wound to feed the new cells and bring immunity helpers to the area.
sometimes there is inflammation because our cells are so goddamn tired that they are frayed, under-nourished, and sensitive. basically they are hangry. just dulling your body's martial response to that doesn't actually feed you.
i think about this when we tell people they are being "divisive", these goddamn calls for "unity." no. anger is not inherently good or bad. the answer isn't always hey mars, shut up. it is a battle cry. listen.
rage, certain types of passion, agitation, sensitivity (yeah, it's not just the moon that's sensitive) can be really uncomfortable. painful. i don't like how it feels in my body to be angry. i wasn't taught to hold or express it. but it is information, and important information.
mars isn't doing inflammation by themselves. a holistic approach is going to look at more. maybe from a palliative perspective to make you more comfy, we'll turn down the fire a bit. but primarily we are probably going to focus on nourishment or whatever the "why" is of the fire.
nourishment looks like bone broth, nettle, dandelion leaf, red clover, calendula, marshmallow root. resilience and better sleep cycles looks like ashwagandha, shatavari, codonopsis, astragalus, medicinal mushrooms.
oh god, and for nourishment: seaweeds, violet leaf, horsetail, & magnesium supplements. for turning down the volume and cooling down (if it is truly a hot condition), we have blue vervain, rose, lemon balm, linden, skullcap, passionflower. & more.
work w/ an herbalist for a protocol that suits your martial fire and all that it's trying to protect, however over the top it may be.

i have openings in march including a consult that takes your natal chart into account: https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?appointmentType=category%3AHerbal%20Consults&owner=19888362
happy to recommend other herbalists too if you want something earlier.
