Once again, the attack on the Capitol was not “anarchy”, it was FASCISM. Anarchy is a philosophical opposition to authority. The people who stormed the Capitol replaced the US flag with the Trump flag b/c they want a Trump dictatorship. The GOP is a fascist party.
Nothing Republicans are doing differs from fascist movements of the past:
-they commit acts of violence while claiming it’s the work of various leftist groups
-they rally around a dictatorial leader
-they engage in demagoguery
-they accuse any opposition of being communists

This is why I keep emphasizing that the Republican Party needs to be excised from the body politic as the fundamentally anti-democratic, fascist party it has become. Doing otherwise only lays the groundwork for a mass casualty event b/c that’s how fascists operate.
There can be no redemption for McConnell and all the other figures who enabled Trump all the way until the 11th hour when they still took the weakest course of action to oppose him. All they’ve shown is a willingness to enable the rise of a more effective fascist dictator.
The Republicans have to be expelled from the body politic. If the never Trumpers, traditional conservatives & others who never abandoned the basic tenets of a representative constitutional democracy want to form a new party, fine. But the GOP belongs to Trump fascism now.
