Debunking “Christina Aguilera being one of the most unlikeable & problematic celebrities of her time” Thread:
First lets consider the original source to the original “Christina Aguilera being one of the most unlikeable & problematic celebrities of her time Thread” a Britney Stan being a racist, ableist, misogynist, & a obsessed hater:

NOTE: Not attacking ANY celebrities in this thread simply highlighting the hypocrisy of the original thread which was made by a unhealthy biased hater who clearly is obsessed on hating Xtina
1. Culture Appropriation: this was a completely different time, and it should not be excused. but everyone who is STILL doing it NOW should be held accountable.
Thing is many stans are quick to yell cultural appropriation at other artists but when its their fav they are quick to twist logic. specially those who are not African American, Indian, Japanese..etc
stans keep on bringing up a Pepsi commercial that Christina did in 2006 where she is all around the world and dressed up in each culture. not defending her but its been years and Pepsi is problematic company.
example: 2005 Beyonce and Jlo Pepsi commercial presenting them as and stereotyping the asian market.
Christina appropriating Japanese culture: i do not want to argue against as i am not of Japanese decent and i do not wish to speak over them but Christina does differ from artists as she actually lived in Japan as a child.
Christina represents the culture in stage now, Christina represents a return to her childhood and respect the culture that helped shape her.
just more about how Christina includes her childhood to her stage now:
2. here is why Christina Aguilera is NOT a Britney clone.
Both Christina and Britney were on MMC as children where they both sang and danced. Christina was more featured as a singer while Britney was often a background dancer.
Christina did not start her career in 1999. She was featured in a Keizo Nakanishi single in 1997 when she moved back to Japan to record.
then she released Reflection for Disney before Britney’s late 98 debut.
Britney had labels interested the same time as Christina but Britney released her debut first because she was already being molded after Robyn. The same girl next door, baby husky voice and Swedish pop styling. They wanted Robyn but she wasn’t easy to control.
so they created an American version of her instead.

Take a listen to Robyn’s song Do You Know (what it takes) and you can hear for yourself on other songs like her song Show Me Love from her debut.
now this user claims both Britney and Xtina were blonde as if Xtina copied her hair color lol but fails to mention Christina is the only natural blonde, Britney started as her natural brunette self. Xtina is the only one with blue eyes next to their peers Jessica and Mandy.
Christina’s record debut was delayed to find the right material because she was a blonde barbie with a soul in her voice and Etta James influence since childhood for some reason they did not know how to market her.
they saw Britney having success by using the Robyn, solo spice girl formula and also drew on Xtina’s childhood as a singer/performer, meanwhile trying to control her riffs and runs across her debut but thanks to her influences, it’s not as bubblegum pop as her peers.
Christina was always stating her position about what kind of artist she was and she wanted to be. the comparisons between Christina and other women who are nothing like her is shallow.
3. What also sets Christina aside from her peers was taking control from her manager Steve Kurtz at the age of 19. Christina sued her manager for taking advantage of her financially and overworking her.

4. mainstream media loves to categorize women into two different groups. The good girl and the bad girl, early on her career Christina was always vilified as the bad girl.
Xtina was taking shots for sudden change of style and maturity in her music and music videos.
Amy lee, Shirley Manson, Avril Lavigne, Amy Winehouse, etc attacked her cause of her image calling her a bad influence or that she didn’t need to be naked to sing.
Christina putting herself out there was her choice, not for attention or to please other but it was her way of taking ownership of her body specially when her label was against that.
i wanna add Christina’s debut single genie in a bottle and debut album was very different from Britney’s. Christina’s music was r&b influenced and you can clearly see that britney and christina music are different from the start.
to be continued 🥱
