There is a big knowledge gap between Capitol Hill reporters & the rest of the world including other journalists about congress. The Capitol Hill reporters can be intensely annoying about this but I would love if one of them would explain some very basic facts about congress to me
Mostly this is about customs and daily life of how things work and not the sort of stuff I already know from reading wikipedia and shit.
This is a small question but when the congresspeople do like weekly lunches with each other, like the Republican Study Club meets to talk about stuff, do they actually eat lunch? Is it in a dining room? Is it catered? Do the order off a menu? Do they all eat the same sandwiches?
I have fewer questions about the daily life of the White House because one time the Obama administration let me come by and a very nice lady took me through the west wing and and answered all my dumb questions.
