2. There are reasons that restrict tribunals power in making decisions:

- Evidence they’re able to consider
- Perceived reliability of witnesses
- Witnesses willing to come forward

As a general rule however, a black person threatened by a noose *by definition* is ALWAYS racist.
3. Respecting the restrictions listed above, what happened here is a single surgeons world view consuming the lived experience of black surgeons across Canada and the world.

That sends a message contrary to what I know our AB physicians stand for.

4. It also propagates the abnormal norms medical learners absorb about how professionalism works.

Recently @CFMSFEMC has had concerns brought forward by @yotakahron @SMHernande regarding #racism.

5. I don’t blame @CPSA_CA or the tribunal for this. They are trapped in processes that consume and erase Black, Indigenous and other racialized lived experience.

But now that it’s identified, and I hope there is great #amplification, they need to stop the harm this propagates.
6. To my colleagues who deal with racism, sexism, ableism, classism and the countless other -isms, #iseeyou #ihearyou

One day we’ll live in a post-ism world.

There’s a lot that needs to change for that to happen.
