This #WomenCrushWednesday we are celebrating Stacey Abrams, LaTosha Brown, Tamieka Atkins, and the Black women organizers whose years of tireless work to get out the vote helped to flip Georgia blue.
. @staceyabrams, who formerly served as the Democratic leader in the Georgia House of Representatives, founded @NewGAProject and @fairfightaction to address voter suppression and educate Georgians about elections and voter rights. #WCW
Another organizing champion, @MsLaToshaBrown, co-founded @BlackVotersMtr to increase voter turnout and expand voting rights policies. She focuses on ensuring that Black communities in the South not only are registered to vote, but understand the power of their vote. #WCW
. @TamiekaAtkinsGA is the executive director of ProGeorgia, a state-based voter advocacy organization. Alongside a coalition of women-led civic engagement groups, Atkins has been focused on ensuring voter participation among women of color. #WCW
The on-the-ground leadership of these women and so many others has demonstrated the tremendous power of grassroots organizing and serves as a profound example of what democracy looks like! #WCW
