As more revelations come out about the massive degree to which the coup attempt was an inside job (police opened the barriers, worked with them, senators and congressmen ready to turn over their leftist colleagues to the fascists etc) I'm not surprised because 1/
the PRESIDENT invited the mob there. I would like this to get through the thick fucking skulls of any self-identified leftists pointing to the coup attempt as good, or a potential model for revolutionary action. It's not. 2/
The fucking PRESIDENT invited them to come, the police let them in, etc etc etc blah blah we KNOW all this shit. You can't compare it in any way to some wet dream of proletarian soldiers storming congress. It's just not the same. 3/
I've said this before, but the closest comparison would be if a liberal centre left president invited BLM protestors to storm congress in a symbolic gesture and then cops with liberal values (imagine) let them in. It's not a rebellious or revolutionary act in the slightest 4/
Among the worst coup takes I've seen is "the left is all theory and the right is all action" <- this shit right here is nazbol nonsense. The right wing are murderous violent intolerant fucking scum who think they have a right to make groups of people disappear, therefore 5/
Their "action" cannot and should not be compared to hypothetical action leftists should take. As Kropotkin said, revolutions that don't plan for how to put bread in people's hands will give in to reaction and fail 6/
This coup attempt didn't need to consider things like that because it wasn't a revolution, because they were trying to keep someone in power, because they want to keep everything the same, because they are reactionaries 7/
The leftist action that needs to be done is building and changing and growing. Building parallel systems that provide for people, changing the status quo and growing class consciousness. NONE of those can learn lessons from a bunch of nazi sicko creeps larping the day of the rope
