Back in November, I outlined how the vaccine rollout should allow for a gradual easing of restrictions during 2021.

So much has changed since, so it's time I updated this schedule....

For December, I said L2-L3. This was a fair description. It was L3 in name only. The indoor dining made it more like L2.

For January, I said L4-L5. We're in L5 now.

For Feb-April, I said L3.

Given the new variant, I expect we'll be in L5 for most of February.

Into March, it's hard to see an easing below L4, again because of the variant. Retail remains closed under L4.

April might allow for some easing, but it will be a "dance" with the new variant.

The improving weather may help too and the over 65s should be vaccinated by then.

I think L3 - but with outdoor dining at first

Could Coppers and other night clubs open in July?

A progression like this can't be ruled out:
- April, outdoor dining
- May, indoor dining
- June, wet pubs
- July, nightclubs

If 44% have been vaccinated at the end of June, it's very possible

"December (OLD NORMAL Christmas)" - That's another one I'll keep as is.

12 pubs!

The one caveat I'll add to the autumn and winter is that there will be hesitancy around allowing very large indoor events, e.g. 3 Arena.

We may have some limits there to make sure the virus doesn't surge again like it did this winter.

So here is the new schedule, all going to plan:
- Jan-Feb (L5)
- March (L4)
- Apr (L3)
- May-Jun (L2)
- July (COPPERS for the All Ireland)
- December (OLD NORMAL Christmas)
