Water Buffalo grazing at Chippenham Fen National Nature Reserve Cambridgeshire
Wisent (European Bison) Netherlands (Bison bonasus)
Highland Cow
Only one of these three animals has direct genetic connection with a native British wild animal

Which one?
Steppe Bison (Bison priscus)
Bubalus murrensis
16th-century depiction of the Auroch
auroch cave painting lascaux
Answer is
Wisent has never occurred in Britain, the extinct Steppe Bison did

Water Buffalo extinct Bubalus murrensis no British records, found in Netherlands

Auroch died out Britain Late Bronze Age, but had bred with native cattle
Does this matter?

For me not a great deal all are good conservation grazers, but cattle are more practical on many sites.

It is interesting.

None will be living wild in UK, current laws, roads, people, make it unlikely that will be happening any time soon.
