Previewing Chiefs vs. Browns in the playoffs. Looking back at KC vs Denver in 2018 because OC Eric Beiniemy was calling plays vs current Browns DC Joe Woods. Thread
Chiefs used nub TE pin&pull sweep (buck sweep for the wing-t guys out there) packaged up with bubble screen to good effect.
Speed option weak against one high to get must run game yards. Here on 3rd & 1.
Compressed formations show up several times. One interesting wrinkle was the expansion motion KC used when the look was one high man. The motion creates space in isolation for Hill.
A reoccurring theme was isolating the LB's in coverage. Here motion to empty forces the ILB into a drop vs. speed at #3 receiver. Jerk route by Watkins is a tough matchup.
Another LB isolation example. Four strong load route distribution forces the ILB to cover Kelce on the out cut.
Chiefs also put the LB's into conflict on RPO. Here the ILB has Kelce to the flat on the zone run + slant flat (dragon) concept.
KC presented Hill in motion and the backfield action setting up a version of the cutter naked getting the RB in the flat instead of a Y off.
