I've been following this story just so I could see what happened to this guy.

I have a very personal story to tell about Camp Auschwitz. https://twitter.com/DrEricDing/status/1349363525509111808
Growing up Jewish, you get told the stories of the camps. When I was growing up, we had holocaust survivors come in to my elementary school and talk about their experiences. I remember each vividly. I remember the paper thin skin on arms still marred with tattoos of numbers.
Here's me with my dad, back in pre-pandemic 2019 when we last were able to see one another. He's holding a photograph that hung on the wall of my grandmother's bedroom. It's a photo of my grandfather with his family back in Poland, just before the start of WW2.
I think about this photograph ALL THE TIME these days. Of the 31 people pictured here, two died before the holocaust began and only three escaped. Twenty six people shown in this photograph died in Camp Auschwitz.

Let me introduce you to my Camp Auschwitz alumni family.
This boy was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This girl was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This boy used forged identity documents to gain passage to a refugee ship bound for Canada and was my great uncle Ted, who passed away last year in Montreal. I was fortunate enough to be able to meet him once before he died when I went for Virus Bulletin. Thanks @martijn_grooten
You see, the United States of America did not accept jewish refugees from the holocaust. He would have died if he hadn't Alex Foley'd his way on to a refugee ship.

Thanks, Charles Lindburgh, you goddamn fascist monster.

Center is my grandfather (who had already emigrated to the USA in the 1910s and served in World War I in the US Army. The matriarch and patriarch died before WW2 and are buried in a Jewish cemetery in Warsaw. The photo shows my great uncle Norman, who also emigrated to the USA.
This boy was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This man also died at Camp Auschwitz. Maybe he was worked to death. Maybe he was gassed or shot. Maybe he just died of treatable illness like Typhoid.
This woman died at Camp Auschwitz.
This man was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
She was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This man was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
She was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This guy, who is the time traveler spitting image of my older brother, was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
She, too, was murdered at Camp Auschwitz. Maybe she starved to death or was beaten by guards.
This woman was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This man was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This woman and her sense of fashion was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This other man who looks exactly like my older brother was murdered at Camp Auschwitz. Maybe he attacked a guard and was summarily executed, or maybe his body ended up in a mass grave after taking a "shower."
This woman was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
She, too, was murdered at Camp Auschwitz.
This woman, the last one in my family photograph, was murdered at Camp Auschwitz. She arrived in a boxcar train and left the world without even a proper funeral, just like all the others.
Remember that these cultists believe that high level Democratic Party politicians are literally murdering babies. Meanwhile, they idolize an ideology that literally murdered babies by the hundreds of thousands, like they were just spoiled meat.
I will fight this ideology forever. It deprived me of virtually all of my extended family. I will never allow this to happen here.

That's why Camp Auschwitz sweatshirts and nazi flags flying in the US Capitol building are so incredibly offensive. These are murderous psychopaths.
With the exception of the people who survived, and the two people I've identified from cemetery records, I don't even know the names of these former members of my family. I probably won't ever know their names.

That's the legacy of Camp Auschwitz.
