Belly Schmurda needs to do another music video for Cash App
In a better country with better infrastructure, the Cash App song would be getting ad revenue dollars from Square/CashApp. Belly Schmurda would be an ambassador for CashApp.

Similar to how Run DMC utilized "My Adidas" to sign with Adidas.
Culture drives the brand...

"Brands are destined to become the beneficiaries of aspiration when the common message is one of going from poverty to success" - Steve Stoute
Alas, Belly Schmurda happens to be born in the wrong country. So he has to settle for naira than USD. But we will change this
"Everyday I'm chasing good life". It doesn't get any more aspirational than this.

In the official music video for CashApp , there's a Bank of America logo. That's brand awareness for free.
Everybody involved in this Afrobeats scene needs to go read the "Tanning of America by Steve Stoute". There are parallels that can be drawn with the rise of Afrobeats and the rise of Hip Hop.

We need to learn from the mistakes Hip Hop made..
There is a rise in demand for African Culture/Music worldwide. Some call it Afrobeats others call it Afropop. Regardless, the music is one of hope, of aspiration, of enjoyment.
Instead of looking at "CashApp" as a song glorifying fraud. We need to look at it as a song describing the reality of the streets. Similar to how Hip Hop told us what was happening on the street with drug dealers/crack.

The Afrobeats artist is a journalist for the streets
No matter where you are in the world, people can relate to the "core experience of poverty". Similar to Hip Hop, Afrobeats has similar themes.

We can package our authentic African culture/experiences and sell it to the rest of the world.
Again I repeat, the Afrobeats artist is a journalist for the streets. Belly Schmurda is an artist but also a journalist.

The same way Jay Z and co talked about selling drugs and what they had to do. Our artists are telling us what the streets have to do to survive.
Lyrics from Vision2020

"Ghetto where we hustle, vision 2020
Our government dem promise
You know say boys go chop.."
Mama call me say, "Chinedu is balling"
What are you doing, son you're dulling
Four years in LASU is really nothing
Better get that money, son we're starving"
Yahoo Yahoo is Afrobeats version of drug dealing. The market isn't there to sell drugs at scale but you can scale with maga. That's the reality of our own streets.
I hope I've been able to convince y'all that Belly Schmurda deserves a Pulitzer for his journalism.

"A problem shared is a problem solved" Vision 2020
We lack historical context...this is why we experience lived history and we can’t draw the parallels to the past. You can’t know where you are going if you don’t know where you’ve come from.
How did Hip Hop expand worldwide? African Americans are 13% of the population at 45 million people. Yet Hip Hop can be found in a small village in Croatia all the way to a small town in Gisozi, Rwanda. How did that happen? What were the common themes?
In a smart country ruled by better leaders, we would leverage Afrobeats into mobilizing the creative and cultural industries for soft power and economic growth.

South Korea invested $500m in their creative industry aimed at building a 10 billion dollar industry by 2019.
Without a single investment in our creative industries, Afrobeats has managed to expand world wide. What would happen if the Nigerian/African governments invested in our creative/cultural industries?
