Prisons, like care homes, have high Covid rates and politicians and journalists arguing people in prisons should be lower down the priority lists for vaccines are sociopathic, and don’t give a stuff about the safety of staff who often aren’t allowed to wear masks in prisons
If you want to stop the virus spreading, vaccinating is essential. Else it’ll continue to spread like wildfire in prisons, and you have the added logistical nightmare of having to transport people to/from hospitals. Some prisons claim masks are a strangulation risk, ludicrous.
The more it spreads in prison, the more guards, cleaners, catering staff catch it and bring it home, same as staff did in schools. Creepy people attaching less importance to life once you’ve been convicted for crimes as minimal as not paying your TV licence? Utter dangers.
The NHS is about to be overwhelmed so continuing to let it spread like wildfire further stretches resources and having prison guards in ICUs with inmates isn’t ideal. It’s more complex than just letting people catch Covid and die with no fallout. Terrifying people.
