The Bitter Truth

Starbucks Coffee Makes You Poor

// THREAD
"Buying coffee keeps you poor"

I know Money Twitter thinks otherwise,

but they are wrong.

Small bad habits work against you.

FACT

And buying overpriced coffee is a small bad habit.

Let's do the math.
Your typical Starbucks comes at around $5.

There are 260 days in a year minus the weekends.

$5 x 260 = $1300

That is how much you spend in a year.

You can get a drum of Columbian at Costco for $7.

It will last you three months.

7 x 4 = $28

A difference of $1272 per YEAR
I think of every purchase in a 10-year time frame.

What if you invested that money?

Over 10 years It would be $21, 713

Over 20 years It would be $80,493

Over 30 years It would be $239,611

Over 40 years It would be $670,351
Small dumb decisions add up.

Plus the Starbucks coffee tastes awful.

Full of sugar. Over-bearing flavor.

The Costco Columbian coffee is straight better.

Cost shouldn’t even be a factor when making this call.
I haven't even calculated the future medical bills from drinking a high-calorie frappuccino every day.

IT'S GROSS

I'll make freshly brewed coffee at my house.
Everyone on Money Twitter:
Get 1% better every day.
It's about small habits.

Also Everyone on Money Twitter:
I'll just make more money.
Give me muh Starbucks.

THIS CONCEPT WORKS BOTH WAYS
