Transnet gave a R95 Million contract to General Nyanda Security, at the end of 2 years Transnet discovered that GNS had no employees and could not provide any evidence that they had rendered any services.

R95 Million later ??

When Transnet asked General Nyanda Security to provide proof that they have warm bodies as a security company, GNS said they are not a security company but they are rather a platform on which security services can be provided.

Transnet sued General Nyanda Security for repayment of the R95 Million that they believed was fraudulently paid, GNS responded that Transnet never had any contract with them as GNS but was actually contracted with something called GNS Consortium, so they must go sue that entity.

General Nyanda Security then counter-sued Transnet for R500 Million, citing reputational damage as a result of Transnet suing them.

A few months after General Nyanda Security was terminated by Transnet,
a Transnet General Manager wrote a memo that said he has done an analysis of cable theft pre, during and post GNS and his statistical analysis shows GNS was very effective and should be re-appointed.

Transnet briefed an independent security expert to review the General Nyanda Security reports and advise Transnet if they are proper and acceptable.

The expert found the GNS report said they had arrested a number of people for cable theft but the case numbers are fake & made up.

Molefe then wrote a letter to General Nyanda Security offering to settle the R500 Million counter-suit against Transnet for 20 Mil

Shockingly Transnet then paid GNS R20 Million

Even more shocking is the fact that GNS had already withdrawn its suit against Transnet 4 years ago.
