Our last contribution to our @AoB special issue focused on plant population differentiation is just out: https://academic.oup.com/aobpla/advance-article/doi/10.1093/aobpla/plab002/6066584?searchresult=1
In this work, @jdpalacio and colleagues have conducted an unprecedented sampling of the species Panicum hallii to investigate differentiation between two varieties and population differentiation within each one.
Using a combination of genomics and a common garden experiment, they found strong genetic and phenotypic differentiation between P. hallii var. filipes and P. hallii var. hallii.
And support for a genetic diversity hotspot in south Texas where admixture occurs between both varieties and genetic groups within each variety.
Congrats @jdpalacio, @Evodaveo, @edgardomortiz, @DavidBLowry, @haque_taslima, @gutasilva82, Thomas Juenger, Paul Grabowski, and Jason Bonette for this thoughtful piece of work!
