It is a fragile starting point from which to ask people to be vaccinated. Bucchi asks us to build trust, invest in trust, to alleviate that - through better, more reciprocal scicomm. Yet that does not erase a mismanaged crisis.>
What we need, on top of better, more reciprocal communication, is humility and a willingness to be held accountable by those managing the pandemic: experts and political leaders. Such humility and vulnerability could restore the trustworthiness required to build trust.
