Life as an Engineer
After University I had what most people would call a good job. Solid income, nice perks.
I climbed the corporate ladder quickly, moving into middle management.
But there was something missing...
I wanted more than a 9-5.

Rich Dad Poor Dad inspired me to go into real estate investing.
I made a small fortune buying, rehabbing, flipping and developing real estate projects.
Put the proceeds into a property fund that has 4x in value over the last 8 years.

Started buying stocks as a teenager.
I idolized Warren Buffet, read every word that was ever written about him.
Aggressively invested in the markets.
It was a bull run, everyone made money.
Did well, made another small fortune.

Started working for myself 16 years ago. Poured $200k into my business across a tough first 2 years.
Lots of hours with next time no income.
But made it all back in year 3.
Have made a small fortune most years since then from that 1 business.

Proceeded to start, run, invest in 7 other businesses since then.

Across property, sales, data analytics, recruitment, education, consulting.
Mainly just an investor now.

Crypto Investor
I don’t remember when I first heard about Bitcoin, but I first looked into it properly in 2017.
I’ll be honest, I came for the money. I no idea what I was doing, I got in on the back of the bull run.
My portfolio went up like crazy.

My portfolio went up like crazy.
But after the boom came the bust.
I had the wrong projects, tried to DCA and my portfolio got hammered.
Lost $100k across 2018/19.
Got smart, didn’t quit and started again.
2020 learnt my lessons and made my losses back, then made another small fortune.

And crypto twitter lead me to money twitter.
Someone I followed ran a podcast about flipping, it blew my mind.
It reminded me so much of the real estate game.

I was amazed by the positivity, the optimism and how generous people were with their time.
I was hooked.
So during May lockdowns as I was losing $15k/week in my businesses and with time on my hands I started this account.
EFL was born!

My own piece of digital real estate.
What a ride. I’ve loved every day, built some great relationships and learnt a lot.
6k down, but it’s just the start.
In the meantime my businesses returned to normal.
But I’m still here. Not going anywhere just yet.
