If you work on the #frontline in this pandemic and you feel yourself cracking up, then take my advice (from experience).
Do seek help immediately.
Don't tell yourself you'll get help when this is all over. What you need first is to Get Through In One Piece.
What will help? 1/4
Tiny things can be a big help. Meet a friend for a walk. Talk to someone on the phone. Apply for video counselling. Do not be alone in all your attempts to find comfort. Take no solo drives. Spend no lonely weekends. If you're in danger of a breakdown, don't risk being alone. 2/4
This may be hard to achieve for some but be aware of the danger. Your mind may attack you when you stand unsupported. Or if you are friend to a frontline worker, give them a call and tell them you're thinking of them. Take them a casserole or a cake. Makes a big difference. 3/4
I cared for my mentally ill daughter in desperate times and nearly drove myself off a bridge despite all the support I got. A breakdown will hollow you out with a blunt spoon. You be careful, and/or care for your frontline friends. 4/4
