1/ Everyone applies. Taking a page from @DelJohnsonVC 's book on banning warm intros. We have moved to a process where everyone applies and no one gets preferential treatment because they were referred.
2/ Go to where the founders are. Off the back of the last point, since we are part of a law firm, which again is predominately white, we have to make a deliberate effort to seek out founders from underrepresented backgrounds and it's core to our recruitment strategy
3/ Acknowledge treating everyone the same is not the same as treating everyone equally. Founders are coming from different starting points. How do we need to adapt our programs to ensure equality instead of the same set of T&Cs?
4/ Diversity as part of our brand. As a woman of color I know what the stakes are for building #LegalTech products from one point of view. Know I'll be here, pushing the "uncomfortable" conversations because it's important and representation matters https://medium.com/@elani.buchan/why-i-made-the-move-into-legaltech-71c2ebf6a1cf
