Just seem to have posted a whole load of negativity for the past few days so here is a thread of old photos from when me and my best friend used to take Gothic Lolita fashion photos together in the early 2000s. We would sneak into abandoned buildings dressed up and take pics.
I have so much nostalgia for this time because although I was stupidly superficial and frivolous, I did have a lot of fun. All my free time was spent adventuring and dressing up, I had no responsibilities and felt fearless!
We used to annoy the local macho urbex types a lot. Apparently two women in frilly frocks doing exactly the same thing you do kinda ruins your tough guy image.
This was a derelict library in Leeds, thankfully now restored and used as a gym. It did have gorgeous art nouveau stained glass the first time I went in but this all got smashed by time we took these photos.
This was also the time I started seriously pilgrimaging to all the megalithic sites I could find - a period of spiritual and magickal awakenings despite appearances! This is taken in Birchover which is still one of my favourite places.
We were extremely close and have weathered lots of ups and downs together, I still consider her one of my best friends and now our children are friends too which is so lovely. People used to think we were sisters and I will always consider her my mystic sister đź–¤
