2/ donated books to children's wards of hospitals close to my heart. I wasn't going to tweet about it - that wasn't the point. Then a few conversations made me change my mind. Before I tell you why, PLEASE read on - don’t just turn up at your local hospital with a box of books!
3/ I found out that kids in hospital at the moment can't take in their own stuff and they can't use shared toys, libraries or play areas. It’s SO boring for them and the playworkers are struggling to find ways to brighten up their days. They rely almost entirely on goodwill.
4/ I've made lots of awesome Twitter friends over the last year, many of whom are authors. Some of you might have a spare copy or two of your book/s, which could bring joy to a child stuck in hospital at the worst possible time of the year, in a Covid lockdown nightmare.
5/ So, to all my author friends, if you can spare a copy for your local hospital please join in! Times are hard but even just sharing the message will be a big contribution. I know that all together we can make a difference to dozens of poorly kids all around the country...
